FINFLASH & JAYWALKER - OUR TWO YEAR OLDS FOR THE COMING SEASON

As usual we were scratching our heads for names that bear an association with Insignia for the two 2013 syndicates.

Eventually we think we've come up with two approprite ones!

The Coronet's colt by Jeremy has been named FINFLASH.  To explain - a finflash is a vertical insignia on the tailfin of an aircraft.  We think this suits the colt's striking white blaze and resonates speed!

The Crest Syndicate's Footstepsinthesand colt has been named JAYWALKER.  The thinking behind this is a Jay has a Crest and Walker ties in with the the sires name!

Both colts are pleasing Mick in their work and we are starting to get excited about prospects for the coming season.

END OF SEASON / SYNDICATE GET TOGETHER

Both the Ensign and Roundel Syndicates have come to the end of their two year run and an end of season / syndicate party was held at The Crab at Chieveley to celebrate their success.  All remaining horses in both syndicates won two races each and the evening was also used to distribute the prizes won during the course of the season.

Sadly not all owners could attend, but a good time was had by all who did!

INSIGNIA RACING SPONSORS AT BATH

We sponsored our first ever race at Bath, an appropriate venue as that is where we had our first winner with Signifer last year.  The race was The Insignia Racing Syndicates Fillies Handicap Stakes over 1m 2f and was won by Peter Charalambous' Boonga Roogeta.  Later in the afternoon Represent ran what will be her last race in the Insignia colours, when she came fifth in the 10 runner field.  As ever, she ran a good solid race and jockey George Baker said "she travelled well but just didn't pick up on the very soft ground".

A day to remember
Fantastic Fun!

ENJOYING BRITISH CHAMPIONS DAY AT ASCOT

We didn't have a runner at Ascot on British Champions Day at Ascot, however, we were lucky enough to be able to treat our owners to a tremdenous view of a great days racing by hosting a box for the day.  We enjoyed a tremendous afternoons racing, topped by seeing the amazing Frankel deliver his last victory on the racetrack.

A memorable day!

Vexillum getting up in style on the line
A confident ride by Sam!

SAM DELIVERS VEXILLUM ON THE LINE!

Vexillum won his second race of the season at Wolverhampton last night. It was well deserved and Sam Hitchcott timed it perfectly. He sat quietly out the back of the 11 runner field throughout most of the 1m 6f race, and when Sam asked Vexillum to pick up turning for home, he lenthened smoothly down the outside of the field, just getting up on the line to win by a comfortable neck. Mick, who was quite bullish before the race commented "I love this horse, he's such a trier and loves his racing. He deserved another win, having been 2nd 4 times for us this season".

Represent looking relaxed prior to her Salisbury win

REPRESENT SECURES ANOTHER VICTORY

Represent displayed good attitude and ability to win The Bill Garnett Memorial Fillies at Salisbury. Martin settled her towards the rear of the 7 runner field and about a furlong out she was travelling exceptionally well and we were praying for a gap to open. There was a glimmer of an opening and Martin and Represent wasted no time in taking their opportunity and going on to win cosily by 1 1/2 lengths. Mick, who was delighted with the run said "this filly's always shown us more at home, she's such a good looking horse and shes now showing us what she can do".

VEXILLUM WINS COMFORTABLY AT YARMOUTH

Vexillum got his head in front decent style in the Scroby Sands Windfarm Handicap Stakes at Yarmouth yesterday. He travelled well throughout the race and when Sam Hitchcott asked him to pick up, he travelled smoothly up the inside rail to win by an impressive 5 lengths. Mick commented "I'm chuffed for the patient owners. This horse has always looked capable of winning, and things just haven't always gone right for him. At least he's now got one on the board and hopefully they'll be more to come".

A happy looking Elaine Harwood with Represent following her win

REPRESENT WINS IN STYLE AT FOLKESTONE

Represent, broke her duck in style last night.  Regular partner Martin Harley could not get to the track in time due to traffic problems but he gave replacement jockey, Saleen Golan a good insight into how to ride her and Saleem proved an able substitute.  Saleem commented there was plenty of pace in the race which suited her, she settled well, made her way through the field and at the furlong marker quickened nicely to win by a comfortable 3 1/4 lengths.  Mick said "I'm thrilled, the owners have been so patient, but we always knew she had it in her, she just needed things to go right.  Lets hope she can carry on".

FIRST WINNER FOR EMBLEM

Warrant Officer put up a game performance to win the Selling Nursery at Yarmouth.  Although this was a relatively low grade race and Warrant Officer's first run in a handicap, he delivered his win in typically gutsy style.  Martin Harley, who rode him said "I thought they were coming to pass me a furlong out, but he just kept finding more and really stuck his neck out.  I wish they all gave you as much".

The evening could have been even more memorable with a first double for Insignia Racing on the cards, when the Ensign Syndicate's Represent just missed to hold on, being beaten a neck in the 6f handicap.  The filly really deserves to get her head in front soon.
